How to Add Retargeting Pixels to Your Pre-Save

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview:
Adding retargeting pixels to your pre-save links or embedded campaigns in Sonikit allows you to track visitor behavior and run targeted ad campaigns across platforms like Facebook (Meta), Google, TikTok, and more. This guide walks you through the process of integrating your retargeting pixels in Sonikit.

🔧 Where Can You Add Pixels in Sonikit?

You can add tracking or retargeting pixels in the following areas:

  • Standalone Pre-Save Pages (hosted on your Sonikit short domain)

  • Embeddable Pre-Saves (added to your own website)

🛠 Step-by-Step: Adding a Pixel to a Standalone Pre-Save Page

  1. Log into your Sonikit dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the project that contains your pre-save.

  3. Click on the "Pre-Save" tab.

  4. Select the "Tracking & Pixels" section.

  5. Choose the platform (e.g., Facebook Pixel, Google Tag, TikTok Pixel, etc.).

  6. Paste in the pixel code provided by your advertising platform.

  7. Click Save.

✅ Your pixel will now fire on the hosted pre-save page.

🛠 Step-by-Step: Adding Pixels to Embeddable Pre-Saves

When embedding a pre-save on your own site, you must manually place the pixel in your website’s <head> or through your tag manager (e.g., Google Tag Manager).

  1. Add your pixel code directly to your website.

    • If you're using GTM, add it as a new tag with the correct triggers.

  2. Embed the Sonikit pre-save widget into your site as usual.

  3. Sonikit will not interfere with your site’s pixel firing.

📘 Note: You cannot add pixels from within the Sonikit UI for embeds since your site controls the container.

🎯 Best Practices

  • Double-check that your pixel is firing using browser tools like the Meta Pixel Helper or the TikTok Pixel Helper.

  • Use different pixel events for different campaigns to track performance.

  • Retarget users who visited the pre-save but didn’t complete the action.
