Sonikit allows you to import a list of contacts using a CSV file, making it easy to add your existing fanbase to your account for SMS messaging. Follow the steps below to successfully import your contacts.
π¨ Imported fans don't go through the standard opt-in process, so if you plan on sending messages to imported fans, you'll need to verify that you have email and SMS consent before importing.
Step 1: Prepare Your CSV File
To ensure a smooth import process, format your CSV file following the guidelines below:
In a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, open a blank worksheet.
Create columns for each field that you'd like to include. You can choose to omit columns if you'd like but you cannot include additional columns or data that are not listed below. Adding additional columns and data will cause the import to fail.
Populate the spreadsheet with the fan data that you'd like to include with your import.
Click the link below to download a sample CSV file template. For best results, open the file in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Step 2: Upload Your CSV File
Navigate to the Fans page in your dashboard
Click the Import Fans button
Click Choose File to choose the import file from your computer
Select your CSV file
Check the box to agree to Sonikit's contact data terms
Click Import to begin importing contacts
Step 3: Managing Imported Contacts
Successfully imported contacts will appear in your Fans list.
If any contacts could not be imported due to errors (e.g., invalid phone numbers), Sonikit will provide a downloadable error report for review.
