Drafting SMS Messages in Sonikit

Updated over a month ago

The SMS messaging feature in Sonikit allows you to send targeted text messages to your fans. Whether you're promoting a new release, announcing a tour, or engaging with your audience, you can easily draft messages, select audience segments, and schedule your campaigns.

Step 1: Creating a New Message

  1. Navigate to the Messages section in your Sonikit dashboard.

  2. Click Create Message to start drafting a new SMS.

  3. Enter your message content in the text box. A character counter will display how many characters you've used.

Tip: Keep your message concise and engaging. SMS messages have a character limit of 160 per segment, and longer messages may be split into multiple texts.

Step 2: Selecting Audience Segments

You can send messages to your entire fanbase or specific audience segments. To add segments:

  1. Click the Add Segment button.

  2. Select one or more segments from the list.

  3. The estimated audience size will update automatically based on the selected segments.

Note: If a fan appears in multiple selected segments, they will only receive the message once.

Step 3: Reviewing Segment Count & Message Length

Once you've selected your segments, youโ€™ll see:

  • Total Recipients โ€“ The number of fans who will receive the message.

  • Message Length โ€“ The number of SMS segments the message will be split into, based on character count.

Step 4: Sending Immediately or Scheduling

You have two options for sending your message:

  • Send Now: Click Send Immediately to deliver the message right away.

  • Schedule for Later: Click Schedule, then select a date and time for the message to be sent.

Tip: Scheduling messages is a great way to time announcements for when your audience is most engaged.

Finalizing Your Message

Before sending, review your message and audience details carefully. Once a message is sent, it cannot be edited or recalled.
